Goldie Dartmouth & Amy Brachi

Goldie Dartmouth & Amy Brachi will hold a workshop called:

UNDERSTANDING CONTROL IN QUEER RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNITIES

The aim of this workshop is to create an understandable framework for all queers around the issue of controlling & abusive behaviour in our relationships and communities.

The workshop will explore different kinds of emotional abuse, manipulation, and control and how they work in personal relationships and community dynamics/situations. We’ll look at how this manipulation affects people and communities and will also talk about what people and communities need to recover from and withstand this control.

We will also look at understanding the tactics people use to control and *why* people use controlling tactics.

The workshop is designed to be a non-judgemental safe space. We encourage people to use the workshop as a chance to examine how this topic has effected their lives, from all angles. Please come prepared: this is an intense subject and can produce strong emotions and reactions. Please have respect for other people’s reactions and boundaries, and your own.
